Black and White, January at Ocean Beach in the morning....

I love to shoot black and white although if i do it too much it
creeps me out a bit. Looking at this picture I realize that if i died laying on the beach
this bird would go for the eyes and soft parts.
Eventually he would get to all the parts but only after the sun and the heat had
softened them up a little.

I just really like the way the lines fell in this picture.

This Caddie was so distinctive and shiny. It also seemed to have an aura
a badness, an evil almost, as if walking by it was like walking by an
open refrigerator door on a hot summer day.

Definitely made me think of the car a lowman would drive.
(lowman is kind of a Stephen King reference from a book called regulators)

I never even read the posters because as I took the photo my imagination
was writing in the words and descriptions of lost children, and mutilated house pets.

This shop window caught my attention and as i took the photo I wondered if
the picture would show up on my monitor at home or in this blog or if it would just be a
solid black image.

(Please click the image to see them in full size.)

(Imagination and black and white can be a much fun as the last trip thru a haunted house)

Black and White thoughts....

Is it possible for black and white photos to have a more realistic
feel to them then their colored counterparts?

On the day I took these photos it was chilly and grey.
I was in Down Town San Diego waiting for my daughter to finish
making an exchange at the Macys in the Horton Plaza Mall.

Of course you weren't there so you can't know how the day
actually felt, but you can just take my word that it felt like this.

Thanks for checking this out....
